Can't drag clip to timeline, how come?

Movie Studio 9 Platinum

I am trying to help a friend. She has a video of a wedding wasn't happy with it, the guy who made it burned the raw footage to a DVD for her.

I imported the DVD into my computer just fine, it's VTS_01(01).mpg.

I can drag it to the timeline and use it, no problem, although it's 4.04 GB.

My friend did the same thing and it imported just fine, but she can't drag it to the timeline for some reason.

She is using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Trial Version at the moment. I can't convince her to buy the real version since this doesn't work.

So - any ideas why? Is the trial version limited? Could it be space on her computer? or memory or what?

Thanks,
Brad

Just a WAG, (if it's a RAM issue) probably while it's in your import media view, it's just a file on disk, when you put it on the timeline you add it to your project and it requires an equal amount of RAM. 4GB ain't small. maybe open it in the trimmer and just cut and paste pieces. Maybe the trial version is limited, after all they want you to purchase it.
