Can't drag transitions into timeline Version 16.0 (Build175)

Trying to drag a transition (simple dissolve) into the timeline, no matter which one I try to drag, I just get a red circle slash. Watched video tutorials, I should just be able to drag a transition to the timeline...

You need to drag it onto the overlap of two events (clips).

When you drag one clip over another by default it creates a crossfade. Dragging your desired transition over this changes it.
