Can't edit videos in Vegas 14

Brice wrote on 10/21/2017, 3:11 PM

I'm using Vegas platinum - Version 14 Build 148. I have windows 7.

I upgraded to this and I can't get any of my videos into Vegas 14. All I get are error messages. And now today it decided to lock up on me and I had to reboot the computer.

I have three different cameras (and one is a Sony) and I am having the same problem no matter what camera I use.

I never had this much trouble with the older Vegas software. I paid $50 for the upgrade and it should have worked from the moment it was installed, here it is 2-1/2 weeks later and still can't use it. I am not happy at all about this.

So how do I get my videos in Vegas 14 so I can edit them?

If your hardware is uptodate with drivers aso it may not be a problem.

As you can see on my instruction video the program with this build goes very smooth without problems, so you must do something wrong.
Do you add the media as the 'Show me how" tells you to do?
Also you can follow my instruction video wih the same video you were trying to use :

Where this file came from? Is it a standard AVCHD file from Sony avchd camcorder?

It should work

I have a Canon ACVHD and a Sony AVCHD.

Both of the videos from these cameras worked in my older versions of Vegas. But neither will work with this upgrade of Vegas 14.

Brice - my Canon AVCHD give me no problems but I'm on Win 10. Can you upload a short file somewhere so we can try.

@EricLNZ +1

Best way to solve this one is for someone to try it.... The posted file specs show AC-3. I know it is only 2 channel (L/R), and the latest update added compatibility for 5 channel embedded in m2ts/mts (from older Panasonic camcorders like mine that also records AVCHD in 1440x1080/60i). I wonder if there is a link?

@Brice  What error messages was it giving you?
