Can't find Computer ID for MP3 plug-in

Trying to register mp3 plug-in. It's asking for my serial number which I still have from my Vegas booklet. But when I have to fill in the blank of the question of my computer id for the mp3 plug in, I CAN'T find it.

It say's: If your Computer ID does not appear in the field above, please enter it. You can find your Computer ID by going through the registration wizard when you first run MP3 Plug-In 2.0.

How can I run it when it won't let me get past the question?

PLEASE can anyone help me find it?

You are trying to register what mp3 plug-in?

Either the 1.0 or the 2.0, don't know what the difference it makes with with one. I just want to edit mp3's again like I use to.

1.0 or 2.0 what? from where? There are likely dozens of mp3 plug-in's out there from various sources. We don't know which you are talking about.

In order for me to play mp3's in the tracks, it is said I have to register an MP3 Plug-in. Someone told me I must go to the register section and register one. The only ones listed are MP3 Plugin 1.0 and 2.0

I've tried to talk witha tech person on chat. They said I don't have to register anything. But the issue still is that mp3's will not open because they are unsupported. Because I have only the 6.0 Version, they will not help me.

Someone there said the 6.0 doesn't support mp3's but it HAS in fact for the past year. They have worked everyday until I reformatted the computer. But since I had to do a reformat, does this mean I'm missing something?

Please will someone help me? I've always been editing mp3's before my computer format, and I need to edit a project asap.

You could try installing a third party mp3 encoder ... like LAME.

Try rendering any audio you can open into a new MP3 file. That may register the plugin for you. After that you should be able to open MP3 files. I remember having to do that in ancient days gone by but i don't recall the last version that required that procedure.

Well I caved and got impatient and upgraded to the new 9.0 version since that is excepting mp3's easily. I hope the 9.0 is worth it since I've been using the 6,0 for a few years.
