Can't find menu option

Help me out here ... there's a menu option i want to turn off. I know i've seen it before, but now i can't find it anywhere. I want to turn off 'automatically add captures to media pool'. I'm using Vegas 8.0c and VidCap 6.0c. Has this option disappeared?

'Tis supremely annoying. I'll capture and edit a large project and start rendering. Then while that's rendering overnight, i'll capture and edit a smaller project and finish it off. But, when it's done i can't delete it's media from my hard drive because ... (take a deep breath now, relax, calm) ... it's in the larger project's media pool! Yes, that's right ... while the larger project was rendering in the background, the newly capture media is added to that project. I have to wait until that render is done, then switch back to that project and clean the media pool.

Have i mentioned before how much i don't like the media pool?

Kelly, does this still happen if you open a new project, new instance, before starting the second capture?

Yes. Generally i've got 2 or 3 instances of Vegas open all the time. Everything i capture gets added to all three projects.

I've just noticed that the captured material doesn't necessarily display in all the instances' media pools, but i still cannot delete captured media until i clean *all* of them.

Ooooh, thanks Leslie! I'll keep that in mind when i start capturing HDV.

Where do i find that in VidCap (the external SD capturing program)?

don't see an option either, however see some potential options in the internal preferences of capture,, if you are the adventurous type
