Can't frameserve to CCE without raw pcm audio

Josh15 wrote on 5/29/2003, 11:21 AM
It's supposed to work, but no matter what I do, if I don't use the raw pcm audio option, CCE encoder just hangs. The video server indicates sending about 64 frames, CCE does not seem to get any, and the only way to stop CCE, is to terminate the process with Windows Task manager.

I am using Vegas Video 4.0c, CCE 2.67, latest frameserver

Same with me. Frame serves to ProCoder okay. Won't work with Sorenson squeeze. Works fine with Divx encoding (Vdub or Dr Divx)

Here are some notes on known issues with encoders+FS. Also mentioned is CCE.

There are idiosyncrasies between FS and some encoders. Some of these are caused by the encoder, some by the nle, some by the FS and some (most) are a combination of all. None are necessarily bugs in either, just the way certain programs relate and communicate to another via the frameserver. CBR encodes are normally straightforward, but multipass encodes usually take some experimentation to find the right combination. Vegas, FS and CCE multipass are one of these. To the best of my knowledge you must use pcm audio mode (checkmark checked) to do multipass with CCE.

i cant even get CBR to work when frameserving to CCE from 4.0c (or less)...satish mentioned that i needed to use 2.67 instead of 2.66, i tried upgrading to CCE 2.67 but i still get the freezing at 64 frames also.

:(

satish is this working for you ok with CCE?

With thanks,
