I'm using RCA jacks for input into the back of my audio card SB Live 5.1 and I can't get any sound. Multimedia under input doesn't give me anything.
Is there a way to trace thi s back?
I don't want to buy soundforge until I can at least get some sound. :(
Sounds like you don't have your sound card setup properly to record from your line input. To choose what input you are recording from, you will need to open the Volume Control window (Start/Programs/Accessories/Multimedia or Entertainment/Volume Control). Once you have the Volume Control window open, press Options/Properties. In the Properties Window, look for the area that is called "Adjust sound for", you will want to change this to "Recording". In the area below titled "Show the following volume controls:" you will want to select which inputs you want to control. Press OK. Your Volume Control Window should read "Recording Control". Find the input you would like to record from, put a check mark in the "Select" box at the bottom of that input and turn the volume level up to the second line from the top. ***Make sure you only have the input you want to record from selected, or you will be recording from multiple inputs.*** You may want to minimize this window, if you need to go back and adjust the volume for what you are recording.
