can't get movie studio 8 to opean

just donwloaded movie studio 8, when I put in the serial # nothings happens--I have tryed to uninstall but it will not let me do that saying maybe I do not have adm rights--I do have the rights also I have movie studio 6 and it was working ok, thinking that 6 may have something to do with 8 not opening I tryed to uninstall 6 and it will not let me do that. Now I have 2 movie studios and none of them work Help

Perhaps this might help: create another windows account, install VMS8 there, but make sure it is available to all windows users.

I wonder if a recent problem I have had is at play for you as well. One of the recent Microsoft updates really screwed my XP Home machine, and I had all sorts of problems with my user accounts not being able to run or modify software. I had to go throught and reset all of the user rights on the program files folder, and change some other setting that I can't rememember at the moment. I still can not run VMS on my account I had set-up for video editing (it has everything set to the best performance, and helps me to keep files straight). I am going to end up deleting that account. I had to re-install McAfee in that whole deal as well.
