Can't import .mpg files redux

The Vegas 4 spec says MPEG2 .mpg file formats are supported for open and save. I can only import muxed VOB files. What the heck is up with this? I don't want to have to multiplex an mpg file just to import it!!!

Is anybody from tech support here??

you can only import transport (1 stream) or program streams mpeg2

multiplexing to a program stream (even with no audio) is very fast ... you can use tmpgenc tools for example ..

VOBS are multiplexed streams

export can be to unmultiplexed or multiplexed formats ..
