Can't import or preview avi files in DVD Architect

Hi I have read the DVD Architect manual and am trying to start my first project.
Within the programs media explorer I can not get my media file to import or to preview. The wav file associated with it will preview just fine.
I rendered the avi file from Premiere 6.5, with Adobe MPEG Encoder, it plays Windows media player. any ideas?

What kind of file is it? An M2V file? DVDA doesn't use elementary streams. Render as MPG instead.

You sure you didn't render it as a Motion JPEG avi? (MJPEG, I guess). In which case you'll need to download a motion-jpeg codec in order to view it in Vegas/DVDA.
