I am looking for the ability to have one coninuous wav file inserted into the timeline,,and then as i listen to the file ,,i can insert the tracks as they happen.
the old version( CDA4) used to do this ,All you had to do in CDA4 was press T as u listened ,,really simple! , i cannot figure out how to get this to happen in CDA 5. Does anyone know how to do this??

That way sems to wor for me. I double clicked on the file to add it to the Track List as a single track, played it back hitting T where I wanted a new track

The way I like to do it is to work with the DJ mix in the Trimmer. Drop an M (marker) when I want during playback or zoom in and get it really right. Double click between each M and hit R (region). Remove the markers (they should be visible on top of your region indicators) as these get translated as Indices. Click on the Save Markers/Regions button. Go back to the Explorer view, right click on the file, and choose Add to Track List using Regions.

That way, the tracks are saved in the wave file as well as in the CDA project file.

It only will insert the track where ever the cursor is,,and since the cursor wont follow the song i cant insert it unless i manually do it. the old version used to let me press T as it plays and add the new track from the current position as it was playing. CDA 5 seems to have lost this ability:(

Ahh. I didn't notice that at first. I bet it's a bug. Well, you can report the bug and use my method for now. For what it's worth, the CDs I've burned have had perfect transitions as a mix CD should.

Yup, it's a bug. We'll make sure that gets fixed before final, it's a very useful feature. Thanks for the feedback!
