Hello.

That error message is caused by some confusion in your Windows
Registry. You could provide us with your serial number either through
email (support@sonicfoundry.com) or by giving us a call at 608-256-
5555 and we could then provide you with a file which would allow you
to install the update!

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've been eagerly awaitng 4.0g for some
time (I have a Sony CRX100) and will finally be able to use CD
Architect. Thanks again.

I'm getting a different error message.

When I have SFXP 4.5f installed, I cannot install the CDA 4.0g
update, getting an error message stating I have a newer version
already installed.

Likewise, when I have CDA 4.0g installed, I cannot apply the SFXP
4.5f update, getting the same error message.

Is it not possible to have the latest versions of both? If not, why
not, and which update should I sacrifice?

Follow up: I received the *.inf from SF and followed their
directions. It didn't help; I couldn't install 4.0g. I couldn't
even uninstall Sound Forge to try and redo it. I tried editing the
registry and reinstalling with no luck. I tried reinstalling SF and
CDA in a different directory and still it wouldn't work. Eventually
I decided to reformat my drive and reinstall (I had other reasons for
wanting to do this, too). With a clean slate, my original SF and CDA
installed fine. I then ran the update and it installed perfectly,
also. I seem to remember that I may have moved SF to a different
directory at one time (maybe because I didn't select the default
install dir initially?). I believe this was what caused the
trouble. SF protection schemes seem to be pretty intolerant of the
user moving things around or not choosing defaults. Follow the
prompts and avoid this problem!
