Can't install DVD Architech 6.0 on Windows 8.1

Just got Windows 8.1 and a new hard drive because of a crash. Loaded Vegas Pro 12 64-bit no problem, but when I load DVD Architect it gives me a message that it needs "Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 SP1". So, I click "install" and it fails to do so.

Any ideas? I understand that 8.1 comes with Framework 4.5. Why do I want to get 3.5? Will it interfere with anything else?

You might want to turn on Microsoft Updates as well as Windows Updates and manually go to Windows Updates. There are a number of updates that are suggested but don't install automatically -- and many of them include things like updates to Net Framework.

I can vouch for DVD Arch 6 running just fine on Windows 8.1.

.net frameworks are separate packages. .net 4 does not replace .net 3, it supplements it.

Thanks, I will try downloading and installing NET 3 from Microsoft website and see if that works.
