Can't install Help please

I bought the upgrade from Video Factory 2.0 to the Movie Studio 3.0. I just got the program the other day and I went to install it and when it gets to 'Copying New Files' it hangs for a few minutes and then I get this error: Error 1305. Error Reading from File: C\Program Files\Screenblast\Movie Studio 3.0\sfs4rw.dll; System error code: 0
I've tried installed with Video Factory installed and with it unistalled and I still get this message. And my anti-virus software is disabled

While we're waiting for someone to come up with a better idea, try running RegCleaner. It's shareware (free to download) and it will get rid of most of the stray registry stuff that may be troubling your system.

Just use the automatic clean option. Then try installing MS3 again. (You won't need VF2 on your system to do it.)

I downloaded and ran that program and I'm still gettig the same problem. There's also a few sratches (left to right) near the outer edge of the disk, would this have anything to do with the problem?

Also how long does it take for sony to reply to trouble shooting emails? It's been a couple of days since I emailed them.

oobedoob,

Sounds like your CD is scratched/defective. Try downloading and installing the Movie Studio 3.0b update. You'll find it under Support | Updates at the top of this page. Just use the serial number that was included in the box.

Contact Customer Support if you need a replacement disk. You'll need it if you wish to install MyDVD.

Do you need MS 3.0a installed for the update to work? B/c I can't install 3.0a

No you don't need 3.0a. Updates are stand alone.

I hope this works,
