Can't install media manager

I just did a reformat of my computer and reinstalled Vegas 6.0c and it installed fine. When it came around to install Media Manager it took a crap and gave me continuious error messages and won't install. Here's the error messages that I get:

"Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the server error logs and setup error logs for more information."

Then when I try to open Vegas this is the error message that I get:

"The MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service does not exist or the current account does not have enough privilege to manage it."

When I click OK on that error message a new one then pops up:

"An error occurred with the Media Manager. This feature will be unavailable.

Media Manager initialization failed."

When I click on the details button this is all I get:

"Media Manager initialization failed."

What is going on here? It always worked fine before the reformat and all I'm trying to do is reinstall everything fresh. This should not be happening. Please help me.

Did you update your OS to the latest Service Pack?
One of the things specifically needed by Media Manager is v1.1 of Microsoft .NET runtime. You can get that off of the microsoft site.

Yeah, I did all of that. No matter what I do matters. I have tried reinstalling Vegas and no matter what I do I just cannot get Media Manager to work. This is really annoying. I see no reason for this to happen. Before the reformat everything worked fine, I had no trouble with Media Manager at all. What the heck?

Well, I got it to work. I should have mentioned in my first post that I have my hard drive partitioned and I install all of my programs to the D:\ drive. When I reformatted I only reformatted the C:\ drive and installed Vegas 6 over the previously installed version on D:\. To resolve the problem I deleted the Media Manager folder in the Shared Plugins folder and attempted a reinstall. That did the trick.

Shane, I have not been able to load MM since I updated to V6c from V6b. Hmmm... I've just emailed Sony on the your experience with the "Shared Plug-In" deletion option. Maybe this will assist them in getting me a solution. I reeeeeeally want my Media Manager back. Oh, it DOES work in ACID5 - yes.

Grazie

Fishbelt: Vegas 4 did not include the media manager. Even if you've got the media manager from some other SONY software, perhaps Vegas 4 has no way of knowing it exists or communicating with it.

Grazie, did you try it out what I did? That may be the solution to your problem.
