Can't open a rendered video and audio from VMS

I've spent a good 3-4 weeks preparing a movie in Vegas Movie Studio 4.0 and was quite happy with the video and audio, transitions etc.
I want to make a travel video for about 10 people who went on the trip with us last September. I finally got the project done today.

I just finished rendering the project by choosing the Burn to DVD button.
It took about an hour and 20 minutes to render the video which I expected.

I checked and I now have a 2.28 GB mpeg video which plays OK on Windows Movie Player but it is a silent movie only. I'm not sure how to get the audio file to play. Better yet how do I get the video and audio into one project file again. I had no trouble with audio and video when I was working in Movie Studio.

I tried using Windows Media Player and I get this message. "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found. Error code C00D109B.
How do I get the file into DVD Architect? I was exited out of Movie Studio without getting a chance to choose the "Send to DVD Architect Studio" button.
I can't find any instructions in help on importing an MPEG file project nor the WAV for that matter. All I see under open a project is the .DAR option.
What can I do or what do I need to do to finish the project of a DVD with Sound?

Thanks
Slim

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed on your PC? Are you able to play DVDs on it? If not, you'll need to get a decoder. Windows does not come with one for legal reasons.

Have you got the DVDA Studio manual? This is covered as early as page 16, and probably a few more times thereafter. ;-)

Page 52 of the Vegas Movie Studio manual. I don't have VMS, but I believe that it (by default or by requirement, I'm not sure) puts the video in one file an the audio in another file. DVDA Studio prefers it this way.

Thanks. I did get this issue resolved. What threw me off was the fact that somehow the audio file did not get rendered. Therefore the option of proceeding directly to ARchitect Studio never did appear on my screen until I went back and re-rendered both the video and the audio. However, I now have the problem of only one audio track working and the other two are silent as I've posted in another message in this forum. All three video tracks seem to have been rendered OK.
