can't open audio copy in Soundforge anymore

H all
all of a sudden while working in a project, I get this message when trying to open an audio file in Soundforge:

No problem in this project up til now.
Any idea what's happening?

You could try ticking the Preferences -> General Tab option : Close media files when not the active application

When this check box is selected, files can be edited in external editors (audio, image, etc.) while they are contained in events on the VEGAS Pro timeline.

Seems you may have indeed disabled that feature as bvideo pointed out..... Also make sure the file is not being used by another app at the same time.
