Can't open copy in Sound Forge

Hey guys,
I get "An error occured in the current operation. System memory is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory by closing other applications".
I have no other apps running, I have restarted, and I have 1 GB of fast memory.
Any ideas what the problem may be.
TIA,
Randy

Can you open in Sound Forge without making a copy?

Does it change if you open Sound Forge first before telling Vegas to open a copy?

You may want to Cntl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager and click on the performance tab and watch your memory and page-file usage. See if you page file starts jumping up.

What kind of file is it and how big is it?

Thanks very much Buster...I should have gotten back sooner.
It was from an .avi that someone else had captured from a Z1. They had used an external (single) mic that showed up as a stereo file. Once I changed the channel selection to left (or right) only, all was swell. Not sure why V5 would generate a memory error but...anyway, sorry again that I didn't get back sooner.
Thanks again Buster,
Randy
