A friend gave me a few DVDs of a project he did using a camcorder. The file extension is .dv.

I tried to open these up in Movie Studio HD. The software said I needed QuickTime. I downloaded that. It says I still need QuickTime.

Is it possible to open this type of file in Movie Studio HD?

He obviously copied the files from his camcorder to some program that allowed him to make a DVD of them.
