Can't open Sound Forge 7.0 from Vegas 8.0

I'm reworking an old project that was done in Vegas 8.0 using footage that was transcoded to the Vegas Cineform AVI, so I need to stay in 8.0 for this project. I am attempting to improve the audio. I right click on the audio and select "Edit in SoundForge 7.0". It throws a message that "The specified audio editor can not be opened C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Sound Forge 7.0\forge70.exe"

Thinking it might be a problem with the AVI I brought a wav file into the timeline and get the same response. I then opened Vegas 9.0 and am able to launch Sound Forge 7 on the same wav without problem. I can also open it outside of Vegas.

So it looks like this is somehow a problem with Vegas 8.0. I checked that Sound Forge was properly registered as the audio editor and it is. Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

PS: I am running this on a Vista 64 bit OS.

I have Vegas 8.0c and Sound Forge 7. It opens just fine from the Vegas menu or timeline.

Sounds more like a registry entry got changed when you installed Vegas 9.

Did you try re-finding your "preferred audio editor" in Preferences?

Well, I thought I had but I just now restarted Vegas 8.0 and refound SF. Now when I right click on the audio track for the Cineform AVI SF does open (yea!).

Thanks for the help.
