Can't Print to tape.

It did work some months ago. Now I have an important work-related project and my VV 3.0 won't "Preview on Device" or "Print to Tape". It WILL capture from the DV cam and from a Dazzle DV bridge. I have the Dazzle unplugged now and even uninstalled the Dazzle Software. Still no luck. I do have the box checked which "Enables DV device control" (Tried that both ways). When I Click "Preview on Device" I should see my project playback on the DV cam LCD Display and Speaker. Instead, the DV camera does nothing, while the computer monitor displays a small version of the 1st frame in the upper left corner, and freezes. ESC returns me to before the freeze-up. When I click on "print to tape", the camera sits idle while the project plays at full screen on the my computer monitor instead. What can I try? I have an ATI A-I-W 8500 display card on a Tyan Motherboard with 2 AMD 1900+ processors. (I have swapped out the 1394 card, too: that was not it...)

Sounds like a resource conflict to me. Have you tried a product like ENDITALL before printing? Shutting down all virus ware, office ware, and other background apps? Dazzle is INFAMOUS for problems anyway, but this doesn't sound like just a Dazzle problem.

I always shut down everything I can which is running in the background. It's been months since I did a "Print to Tape", and since then I've added some hardware, but have retreated back to my original configuration. I went to an ATI 9700 card with 2 monitors, but have returned to the ATI 8500 again with 1 monitor until I solve this problem. Also the Dazzle was added, then deleted when this problem was discovered. It's as if the video output for the "Print To Tape" is erroneously being directed to my computer's monitor, instead of the DVCam. My computer's confused which device is supposed to receive the datastream...DVCam or the Monitor...(GRR!)
