Can’t save take edited in Audacity

I just started editing a new short film edit (my first with Vegas since switching from Final Cut). I’ve got some poor audio that I’m fixing in Audacity. Vegas lets me send it over but when I try to save the new take as a WAV, I can’t overwrite the file (I think Vegas is holding it). I checked the close media files so Vegas should let go of the file. I can save it as a take three but then Vegas can’t see it until I open it manually. Bug or feature? Thanks in advance.

are you using Vegas 9? Yesterday I could get Vegas to turn loose of a file even after I CLOSED Vegas (Vegas 9b has been a little less stable for me in several ways compared to 9a). I had to reboot. Try rebooting and working on the file before opening Vegas again . . . that should do it.

Yes, 9b. I had an issue when I tried to close Vegas as well. Windows had to force quit the the process when I was rebooting. Since I’m sending the file from Vegas, I can’t manually open the file in Audacity. So, I have the above workaround as long as I rename the file and then Open it manually.

I can reproduce this every time. Anyone else?

My workaround is to open a copy in Audacity, save the edited .WAV to the desktop and then replace the file manually by dragging the same named file to my default Vegas folder with Vegas minimized. When I reopen Vegas, it uses the new file.

I tried to put in a support case but, after I submitted it, it asked me to create an account, which I already had, and when I clicked submit, I got a blank webpage. How do I know if it got submitted?

Thanks in advance.
