can't see keyframe?

When I add keyframes to a effect I cant see where they are in the track view there is no button to show me to expand it in the video track just to expand track layers. It shows you in the manual and it looks pretty strait forward.

Slowly go toward the bottom of the effects box. When the mouse turns into an up/down arrow, click and draw upwards. You have "closed" the keyframe area.
