can't use avi files in v12 but works fine in v9

I just upgraded from Movie Studio v9 to v12 since I'm on a 64bit Windows 7 PC. The problem is that none of my files work with v12. Every avi file that I have which I was using in v9 can not be imported in v12. All my files are encoded using the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec.

How do I fix this?

I would sent an email to tech support, but the sony tech support website is broken and won't let me send anything.

I did some digging around the internet and found a 64bit codec here: https://support.techsmith.com/entries/22894318-Camtasia-Studio-Download-for-64-bit-TSCC-codec

After installing it, I am now able to open my avi files.

There are thousands of "avi" file types. Glad you found the right codec for yours.
