Can't use CS2 Layers in DVDA3?

I asked this once before, but my mind has gone blank.

When I try to replace my background media with a PSD file with layers named: Background-01, Button-01-Highlight, Button-02-Highlight, etc, I get an error on the preview that reads: "This layered Photoshop File was not saved with a composite image".

If I manually select my background layer, I get the menu background. But, wasn't the whole idea of using Photoshop layers for my menus supposed to avoid manually setting up all the layers?

Any clues what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Steve

Yes. But all you've done is replace the background. ;-)

To create a menu, you either a) go to Insert, choose Submenu from File, and select your PSD file, or b) go to each item on the page, and designate the file and layer that should be used for its frame, thumbnail, etc. (Obviously, Option A is quicker, and probably what you were looking for.)

Search for PSD in the online help for more info.
