Can this be done: Transition speed... (+ 2 bonus questions)

(I am using/evaluating the Demo version of Vegas 4.0 and DVD Architect.)

1.) Could someone please tell me, is there a way to adjust the duration/execution speed of a particular *transition* in Vegas 4.0? Particularly the fades and dissolves; some others as well. I feel that some execute too fast for my needs/tastes.

I have looked and am just not seeing it.

I have been figuring out the different features quite well, however, this one is eluding me.

Bonus questions:

2.) When adding a First Play video clip to a DVD project, is it possible to add a *transition* between the First Play clip and the opening menu?

3.) Also, can one add background music to play during the display of a particular DVD menu?

This Sonic Foundry package is very impressive... (Coming from Pinnacle Studio, maybe.)

Thank you very much for your help.

1) Place your mouse pointer on the edge of the transition in timeline so that you get a "quarter of a circle" with a "double headed arrow". Then left click and drag to make the tansition longer/shorter.

2)No you can't have a transition from the end of first play to the menu (unless maybe you try a fade to black at the end of the intro & then a fade in from black on the menu background file before you bring them to DVDA. You woudln't get the transition on the subpicture's (buttons) etc.
