Hi all

i was wondering if the problem with Vegas reading mpg files in getting black
frames at a sertain time in many frames could be because of the video card
iam using ? currently iam using an ATi 9700 non pro and Vegas is reading black frames in the mpg file in the final rendered file in get alot of black
screens during the movie, now i used another pc with almost the same
satting in this PC but with an Nvidia card a 5600 mx and the mpg files now get readed better no black screens at all the output is perfect and more compressed and better resolution than before .
So my question is that , does it matter what video card iam using so Vegas
sun as its supposed to?

Are you loading video into your computer by 'realtime' mpg conversion? It sounds like my AVIs when I have frame drop-outs, converting analog video to a digital signal and using an inexpensive A/V converter to do it. If you're converting good AVIs and they're coming out that way when they're converted to mpg, then I don't know. But if you're making mpgs directly from a VHS source and converting to mpg in real time, I don't know the 'for sure' answer, but conversion is where I get black areas in my AVIs. Inexpensive A/V converters, don't have the 'Timebase corrector' that keeps the problem of converting old analog tapes to digital and dropping frames and causing those black areas on AVIs. LIke I said, I don't know about realtime mpg converters. I'm just guessing here, but that's all I can think of. I only use a TI 4200 Nvidia and my OS is Windows ME. I have no problem, except using the cheap A/V converter and getting dropped frames (which I cut out in editing) Are you using a Dell or E machine?
