Can two events be merged back together (unsplit?)

I've seen how split works, and how group works, but what if I want to merge two events back into a single one?

Keep in mind that "splitting" an event doesn't alter it at all. You could
always just remove the second part from the time line, then pull the
end of the first one out again. Everything that was "split" from it is still
there.

If you've performed the split in order to remove some of the event, then
the only option you have is to render it into a new file.
