Can Vegas handle Pinnacle Studio 8 AV files?

I have a guy who gave me some Files from pinacle studio 8. He said, "I captured them as A/V studio 8 files, I don't know if you can read them but here's the hard drive."

So, I haven't hooked it up yet, because it's a bit of a hassle and I was wondering if you guys know diffinitively one way or the other, or if I will have to re-capture his footage from the tapes.

You need to use the Pinnacle software to render to avi first.

What codec was used in the capture? Pinnacle will capture either as MJPEG, DV-AVI or MPEG depending upon the hardware used. You should not have to render to an AVI first. YOu should be able to use them directly.
