Record in real time. As the video is playing ....open the pan/crop window and have it record your movements as it's playing.

automation is the term you are looking for. to the best of my knowledge, vegas only supports audio automation, not video too, but that would be cool!

Yeah,... I didn't think it was possible in vid (I know real time recording can be done in audio. used it many times. Thought maybe there was some hack or 3rd party tool. One can dream,

There is a hack. Use a motion tracking program to follow something & then write a script to read the exported motion data to have the pan/crop center on that point.
