While rendering XP task manager shows vegas is using 50%. Is there a way to bump this up to like 95%. Adobe does this while mpeg encoding so I know its possible. But what about vegas?
(I've tried changing priority to high and still stays at 50%.)
I don't know what kind of CPU you have (dual or multicore?) but you should have at least as many rendering threads as CPU cores for full utilization. In the Vegas "preferences" section (as I recall) you can set the number of "rendering threads" used. I run WinXP (SP2) with an old P4 processor and Vegas 7e is rendering from HDV to Cineform HDV-I right now at 93% utilization. I have the rendering threads set to 4.
NOTE: if I use the 3rd-party "dynamic noise reduction" plugin from Mike Crash then the utilization drops to 50%. I guess that plugin only uses one rendering thread (?).
