Can you detect volume dynamics?

I'm digitizing old cassettes in Vegas. I'm wondering if it's possible to detect the volume changes when the tape goes quiet and another song starts, so you automatically plant a marker there - and you've got the beginnings of a CD layout.

The answer is no. Scripting does not have access to audio or video data through Vegas.

Roger that, Roger. I suspected as much. People have been so generous with so many great scripts, I was just getting greedy.

Indeed, there's no way to access raw audio and video data via scripts. I will add this to the FAQ.
