nope, you need the new Vegas 5

Not withthe supplied MainConcept Encoder. You can pick up CCE Basic though, which will do 2 pass VBR and then use Satish's Plug N Pak frame server to serve the AVI file to CCE (just did this in fact).

is there a signifcant difference in quality between the two methods? ie using v4's mpeg encoder and the two step alternative?
