Once upon a time a company named Polarsonics made a nifty little free utility called VSCopy that would import VS-tracks as audio waves into your PC (you needed a SCSI-connection). My search for Polarsonics.zombie.com met a dead end, but Roland may help you as they still mention this utility in some of their VS-documents.

There is another transfer utility at http://tihlde.org/~timh//download.html
but this apparently was made in the bad old days of Win95...

Sorry, can't help you with your original Vegas question.

Its been a while (we sold our 880s) but here goes.
We used the MOTU 2408 and Midi Timepiece AV

In V3 go to Options> Preferences> Sync.
Set your Generate Midi Timecode Settings Output Device to what ever midi I/O you have
Mine is set for (MTPAV:Out8)

Frame Rate SMPTE Non-Drop 30(30fps)
(none) should be in the other two sync windows

Go to advanced tab.
Check Use internal timer and set it for 2ms
I also use Full frame message for all cursor position changes

Hit Apply, OK, Ok out of the Preferences window
Hit F7(Generate MTC)
Right click on Time at cursor to set your time display to Midi Timecode Out.

Now set up your VS880 to slave, MTC, 30Nd and add a 3sec offset.
Hit play on the 880 and it should not play until you hit play on Vegas.

If you have problems send me an email and I'll be more than happy to walk you through.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly - I did every thing that you sent me but I'm still having problems. If you have the time I'd appreciate the "walk through" - I think I have my connections done properly. Any assistance would be awesome!

thanks
