Can you open a Vegas Pro 12 project file in Vegas Movie Studio?

Mandark wrote on 8/20/2018, 7:13 AM

I have heard that you can open a Vegas Movie Studio project file in Vegas Pro. However, can you also do it the other way around?

I know Vegas Movie Studio lacks certain capabilities compared to Vegas Pro, but what if you have barely used any effects in a project you were working on Vegas Pro 12, would you be able to open this in Movie Studio?

The project file basically consists of loads of video and audio files, with effects such as cropped video, zoomed video etc... nothing too outrageous.

If the answer is no, is there any other Movie Studio version where it is capable in?

Thanks in advance.

No. You can go up but now down. Pro can open Studio files but not the other way around.

The file I have also shows 0 threats when I scan it with malwarebytes and kaspersky. But after I install it, suddenly it detects a trojan. Did you keep your anti-virus program on while installing it for the first time? Did it detect anything?

You can trust the file and the site. I use Versionfaker already several years. Also I know FocusonVegas. He made also the app BatchStabilize for Vegaspro (on my demand).

Ok, then thanks for recommending it to me guys. So which version of Movie Studio do I need to purchase to be able to open a vegas pro 12 project file? And is it sure to work?

Thank you very much .. this app saved me. Even Though it only supports Vegas Pro files up to version 15, it did convert my Vegas Pro 16 project into Vegas Movie Studio and it worked well. Also, my Norton did not detect any problem with it so it is safe to use.
