Can you play imported video clips continuously in a DVD made with DVD Architect?

[[Similar to earlier message posted by me with a bunch of typos that have been corrected, including one in the subject listing that made the subject hard to understand]]

Is there any way to have DVD architect take various MPEG files (corresponding to video clips) and make the into a video that can be played continuously across multiple such clips, while at the same time allowing each clip to be separately selected.??????????

I created and labeled a bunch of such clips using Vegas, and imported them into DVD architect and had a separately labeled thumbnail for each. When I created the DVD everything worked fine, except that only one clip would play at a time before returning to the menu. This if for home movies and it is very annoying to have to return the menu after a 30 second clip.

Does this mean that the only objects entered as one object (such as a “single movie object” can be played continuously??????????

Each of the clips came from an avi file in which I have marked regions using Vegas. Is that any way to import just the selected regions into DVD architect with the names for each label that was given to it in Vegas?????????? I have not had good luck important an entire AVI or MPEG file made from Vegas which has labeled regions and then using the “load markers” button in the window associated with the imported media. Usually the imported marker only have a slight resemblance, if any, with markers created in Vegas.
So how can one create a DVD using DVD architect in which on can use regions and their associated labels created in Vegas as selectable media portions in a DVD of clips that can be played continuously??????????

Preferably, one would like the ability to change the order of such marked regions between their order in the Vegas file in which they were selected and their position in the DVD, if possible.

Also is there a way to have a sequence of submenu in which navigation can occur directly from each submenu to the next submenu without the need to first go back to the main menue??????????

If you have 3 video segments, and you want them to play as a single segment, they must BE a single segment instead of 3.

Until end actions are supported, this is your option.

First of all....you really only need to type one question mark.

I think we get the point that you are a little frustrated with the process - but this is just a bit thick ... don't you think.

Second, as Jetdv has stated to your original question - there is not currently a "play all" function as such in DVDA. If you have multiple clips that you want to play individually - or play all together, you will have to render it as one file (preferably in Vegas) and bring it into to DVDA....set chapter points and in/out points to give it the structure that you are looking for.

As for exporting regioned areas from Vegas into DVDA (or more to the point rendering just regions...and then inserting those rendered files into DVDA)...what part are you getting hung up on? This is one of the more simple functions of both applications.

Or...I would dare say - it is the basics of what they do.

I think you may need to go back and read the manual. This function that you are getting hung up on is about as simple as turning on the facet to get water. I'm not trying to belittle the point (or you), but you really need to do some basic reading if this function is eluding you.

Hope this helps. Did it?????????????????????

Thank you very much. It confirms my fears.

Is there a way to avoid the problem I mentioned when trying to import region markers from a a continuous AVI or MPEG file for which a VEG file has been created with labeled regions (i.e., the imported markers often include a few or none of the region markers and labels from the VEG file)?

Am I wrong. It seems the easiet way to get the desired selection and ordered collection of labeled menu items into a continuously playing DVD is to use MediaStudioPro. Since it reliably can import clip names used to create a continuous video file into its DVD factory program (although that program is much less flexible than DVD factory).

Thank you. Your reply did help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have skimmed the whole manual and read carefully the parts that seemed to apply to this problem that is allegedly as simple as getting water out of a fawcet. When I tried what the manual said I got only the first several of about 30 regions that I had labeled in a continuous Vegas edited file. If you could point out to me to several sections that explain this, I would appreciate it very much, and I will read them with excrutiating care.

I think you are getting confused between regions and chapters....I may be wrong of course or actually not aware that regions affect DVDA for that matter...please enlighten me if this is so!

Anyway, beware that when you are about to render the ONE BIG file in Vegas, make sure that only the pointers/chapter points (using markers on vegas timeline) are the ones you want to keep in DVDA: ie, delete all other markers or they will be seen as chapter points in dvda. These make chapter points; if you want to isolate specific segments of the big avi file, you have to set in-out points for each segment WITHIN DVDA, not VEgas...

I replied to your original post with the basic "how to"...

Paul.
