Can you recombine a split?

I accidentally inserted a number of splits in a multi-track audio project. It was stupid but it was late and I was driving - well, actually passengering. The undo history is long gone. Is there a way to re-combine these split segments?

Of course.
Delete the events that have the unwanted splits, and drag the edge of the first event to fill the space.

How about:

Delete the event(s) and drag the original media from Media pool back onto track(s)

Or render the split event(s) to a new track(s) with same specs - disable all plugins and level/pan settings if you don't want those applied.

But simply dragging out the ends of any of the split segments remains the easiest/quickest - why would you want a harder way ;-).
