Not sure exactly what it is you are trying to do, but to record in VV3 all you have to do is arm one or more tracks, select the appropriate input and push Ctrl-R.

Recording will begin immediately on the armed track(s).

no i meant to be able to record a streaming file on the internet like "StreamRipper" does. But StreamRipper only rips ShoutCast radio files....I'm looking for a program that will record anything! every kind of file, including files like Real Audio....just play it and hit record with the recording program, and it will put it back as any file you want....got any thing that does this?

Any audio recording software will do this fine. All you have to do is go to the recording settings of your sound card's mixer control panel and select "what you hear", "mixed output", "pc speaker", or whatever is similar to that. You will then be recording the same signal that you hear from your speakers.

You could even do this with Microsoft Sound Recorder. It's a trivial process and it doesn't cost a thing.

except for my microphone...but my line-in, wave, and cd-audio don't record. I'm using SB Live!

Have you selected the appropriate input in the recording section of the sound mixer? Open up the sound card's mixer control panel, select Options, Properties, Recording, OK. This screen selects what is recorded.
