Cannot Capture Video From Camera with MS 4

I am using MS 4 and when I go to capture video I am prompted to enter the serial number of the capture video product (Vegas).

Is the capture video not available in MS 4? You have to buy a plug in or upgrade to Vegas? When I read the manual in MS 4 it seems to suggest this is only available in the Vegas program.

For the record I have a legal copy that I bought at ComUSA, the only serial numbers are for MS 4 and DVD Architect, neither of those works when I am prompted for the Capture Video serial number.

A buddy of mine thought capture video was only in Vegas...

Anyone here in the know?

Chris

I don't know why you're being prompted for an extra serial #, but video capture is definitely available in MS4! Search your HD for the capture program, vidcap50.exe and see what happens when you run it - it should allow you to capture video, print to tape etc.

Assuming it's OK, open MS and go to Options / Preferences / Video, where you can enter the location of vidacap50.exe. It's possible this is pointing to the wrong place.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS4? VidCap should be set up and ready to go if it installed properly (it's installed as part of MS4). It sounds like something went awry when you initially installed MS4.

I installed it over a trial version, that may be the problem. I'll goof with it tonigth and follow your suggestions. Thanks guys!
