I am a newcomer in this forum, an amateur Hammond organ player and a hobby Edius 5 and Vegas Pro 8 user. I mostly make - beside the family videos - recordings of the larger concerts of my amateur classical rock band using 4 to 6 home video cameras.
I do multicam editing in HD 1920x1080 50i by Edius 5. Then I transfer the cut video using Canopus HQ AVI to Sony Vegas Pro and create - from the multitrack (24 tracks) audio recordings remixed by Cubase 5 - the Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 .AC3 audio files and finally the DVD authoring is done by DVD Architect 5.0b.
All the settings I use both in Vegas and Architect are 5.1 surround settings.
My problem is that when I change the project properties before burning the disc in Architect, depending on whether I set to prepare Blue-Ray disc or PAL DVD (both are set for 5.1 surround) the same audio tracks behave differently:
In case of PAL DVD the audio tracks are not recompressed and the burnt DVD
has one proper 5.1 surround track and also one stereo track.
In the case of Blu-Ray disc both audio tracks are recompressed (DVDA message: reason for required recompresson: media is not compliant with the disc format) and on the burnt Blu-Ray disc both audio tracks are 5.1surround tracks, with silent surround speakers and the front speakers have wrong stereo image.
I tried in the morning to render out by Vegas both a 5.1.wav and a 5.1 .w64 audio files, but DVDA did not recognized them. So the final pictuer is: 5.1 AC3 files are recognized, but - just in case of Blu-ray settings - they are recompressed with a wrong result, while other 5.1 file formats are not recognized by DVDA.
Can somebody suggest me a solution?
