Cannot delete "take-files" - a bug?

I'm using the script NewDeshaker to stabilize some of my clips (PAL DV Widescreen). Sometimes I want to delete one of the stabilized clips / takes. In other words, I want to delete both the take (take 2) in Vegas Pro 9 (32-bit) AND the corresponding physical file (created by NewDeshaker) on my hard disc. But this is not possible / difficult.

1. In Vegas I have no problem deleting the stabilized take (take 2) by right clicking the event. But if I try to use the Explorer in Vegas to delete the associated (physical) file, Windows (Vista 64-bit) will not delete the file because it is still in use by another program (Vegas). Annoying.

2. I can delete the take in Vegas and use my file manager (DOPUS) to delete the stabilized file (when Vegas is still open). But then I get a message in Vegas: "The following file could not be found in the specified location.". Then I can choose to "Ignore missing file and leave it offline". Ok. I close Vegas, and the next time I open Vegas I'm reminded again: "The following file could not be found in the specified location.".

My point is: I delete a take and the associated file, but if I do so I will always get a reminder that a file is missing. Is this a bug, or is it possible to resolve my problems?

Thank you,

Use the options in Project Media, not Explorer. There you have a choice to delete the source file as well as the project reference.

Also in Project Media use the lightning bolt icon to clearout unused media from the pool. Then next time you open Vegas it will not complain about missing media.
