Cannot extract Audio from CD

I tried numerous times to upload a song from the CD on Vegas 4.0. Every time I use the Extract Audio from CD it seems to work until the end of the extraction I get the error message "Error 0x800a0026 (message missing)"

I can extract the songs using other programs, but I would like to use Vegas for this function. I am using XP w/service pack 2

Thank you for your time

I have just purchased Sony Vegas Movie Studio and also ran into this error. I did 2 things to my computer after this so I don;t know which one actually worked for me, because then I no longer got the message. I had upgraded my Windows Media Player to V10 (which can be done at no cost at microsoft's web site), I had then copied from the media player songs from my CD to my hard drive and was able to pull them into my project. As I was making these copies I noticed that another music application that is on my system kept loading and I realized I had 2 applications set as default, so I disabled the second application (Music Match Jukebox) and kept Windows Media Player as my default player for music. I then decided just to see if I could extract from within my Vegas software and I was able to with no error. Hope this helps you also.
