cannot get vegas to recognize a panasonic dv2000 deck

I use the AGDV 2000 all the time so I can verify that it does work very well with vegas, but I don't know why it won't work on your system.

I have an AG-DV2000 deck connected to a standard firewire card that works great with Vegas. What are the settings on the front? The slider should be on Passive and the knob pointing to 2:00 (I'm not in front of it right now or I could give a more exact answer)
