Cannot import a video file into Vegas Pro 18

A batch of videos I download from my video security system won't load into my Vegas Pro 18. I saved the files in .MP4, .AVI, and .264 versions, all to no avail. Files were from 40mb to 250 mb, so they weren't especially large. I have uploaded an example to this post in case someone can take a look at it to tell me what is going wrong. At least I hope the upload will be successful. Maybe this site can't digest it neither.

File names are in the structure of ch01-20210905-203006-203048-102000000000.MP4, but I copied a file renaming it to something more simple, like "test_file_01", all to no avail. VP18 doesn't give me any sort of errors, just ignores the double click to the trim screen or the drag and drop onto the timeline. Hmm,circle is STILL spinning........ I'll come back to this later to see if it completed. Hopefully submitting this post doesn't kill the upload processing. :(

@Rich-Zuchowski Unfortunately video files posted here get converted. You need to upload your original file to a cloud service, such as Google drive, and provide the link for others to download and try.

OK, never used that service before, but I gave it a whirl. Let's see if the link works.

Does that suffice?

Thanks.

OK, here is a kick in the teeth. I happened to have VP15 still on my system, and it at first gave me a message about a MPEG (I think) codec being successfully loaded, and then I was able to successfully load the file. So it appears I have a codec missing in VP18 somehow. Now I have used VP18 quite a bit here and there, and never had a previous problem. So what changed?

And just for chuckles, I tried some videos from my Panasonic camcorder in VP18 and they loaded just fine for me.

Eh??
