I am trying to convert VOB files from home burnt DVD's (toshiba DVD burner) to MP4 or AVI that I can load into sony vegas 10 pro to edit. Sony Vegas does not recognize the converted video files that are made from VOB files.

The VOB files themselves play in VLC media player and most others. Even the files I converted will play in a media player. But for some reason I can't import them into sony vegas. All I get is the outline if a video but no thumbnail....and no video.

By the way....I am getting a popup on my sony vegas 10 pro to upgrade to 19 for 49 pounds. Although I live in the US. Is this offer legit? And should I take it. I have read that later versions of sony vegas are prone to crashes.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
