Cannot load render templates

relaxvideo wrote on 11/2/2015, 5:45 AM
We used Moviestudio HD Platinum 11 b322 since months, but this morning vegas cannot load any render templates. It says the text "loadind render templates" and progress bar show about 5 little blue squares, but then stops and freeze.
Nothing can help (checking every option on the panel, restart vegas, reset settings with ctrl+shift, restart windows).

What else can we do?

What has changed since you were last able to use these templates?

Did you, for instance, upgrade to Windows 10? Did you add or remove a program?

When you uninstalled, did you delete the entirety of the C/Program Files/Sony/Movie Studio 13.0 folder before you reinstalled? In fact, you might even want to run a program like CCleaner between your uninstall and reinstall.

Somehow your RenderAs reference file has been moved or corrupted.

Nothing changed, my father worked, rendered without any problem, and in the next try it doesn't loaded templates. No add/remove programs, no windows upgrade :)
Yes, before reinstall, i deletetd all the folder (in program files, and also in user/appdata/roaming/sony.. where i found render templates folder, etc).
And still not work :(

Where do i find that "render as reference file"?
Maybe our system drive (SSD) cannot write correctly? It's an old 32GB one, but we don't use it writing, only system loading, so reading all the time. And hdsentinel also show 80% of health.

thx

Are you saying that your system files are running off a 32 gig C drive?

That could definitely be at the root of the problem. There's likely not enough free space on the drive to allow the program to fully deploy.

It's possible that by running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter, you might be able to clear off enough space to allow for another export or two -- before temp and render files again clog up your scratch disc space.

But a 500 gig drive is really pretty much standard for a C drive these days -- though some people are operating with 300 gig. But a 32 gig drive barely has enough space to hold your operating system and a few programs, let alone room for these programs to fully deploy.

Definitely?
That should not be the problem!

XP directory is around 5GB, Program Files another 5GB.
SWAP is also a few GB.
We don't use anything on this machine just an old Photoshop elements and Moviestudio..

FREE SPACE was more than 15+ GB !!

When did you last run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter?

As I've said, when you're dealing with a drive that small, even temp files and fragmentation is enough to choke a program.

This is much less an issue once your C drive is up around 500 gigs or more -- but I still clean up my disc regularly as a matter of routine maintenance.

Defragment abour 1 months ago, but
it was very fast, becuase we don't write anything on the C drive.
As i said, it contains only the system and a few program files, what we use.
We write on the 2TB drive.

I don't think temp files would be the problem if there is 15GB free space...
