Cannot open DVD Arch. 6.0 project in 7.0 (stalls on Opening Media)

Title says it all ... project opens fine in 6.0, will not open on 7.0 ... stalls on Opening Media Files.

Can watch in task manager and see disc IO and cpu usage on the application drop to 0%, and it sits there.

What's the point of buying spiffy new versions of this software if it doesn't work with my older projects?

Version 6 was notoriously buggy. If it all possible, I'd leave it out of the equation completely. (Version 6 was Sony's last build, its only advantage over version 5 being that it could build 3D BluRays, I believe.)

Start fresh in version 7 and you should have no problems.

BTW, I've even open version 5 projects in version 7 -- but I've had nothing but problems when working with version 6.

Ugh .... Recreating a large, huge, project is really not desirable here.

Is there no way to properly (correctly) forward a project from 6 into 7 reliably?

Don't have 5, so that's not an option.

As far as know, no. Version 6 was a bit of a rogue version.

7.0 is no better. I add 8 avchd tracks, works fine. Add the 9th, it freezes when loading. This is with no menus, nothing.

It doesn't matter WHICH track is the 9th .... it's like it has a limit on number of tracks and just won't load past that point.

I've tried to reach out to Magix for help, they have not yet responded to my support ticket six days later.

I am NOT happy. I just spent $350 on this upgrade and the stuff does not work.

Why are you loading AVCHD video into DVD Architect instead of DVD or BluRay-ready video?

Adding AVCHD is a very inefficient way to work with this program. Adding 8 tracks of AVCHD is even more so.

Because when you select the BLURAY AVC preset in Vegas, that's what it makes. AVCHD.
