Cannot render audio file

I have installed Sony Vegas 4.0 on my laptop and have had no trouble rendering video and audio files. However, I have also installed Sony Vegas 4.0 on another computer of mine and it does everything for me fine except for render the audio file. It completes the rendering of the video file fine, but then either locks up at 0% complete for the audio file, or gives an error message that the audio file could not be mixed. This has occured on two other computers that I have installed this on.

Has this something to do with installing the software on more than one computer? If so, how do I resolve this. Thanks for your help.

I'd be guessing it's more media related than anything. More information about the media, where it came from, what format you're going to would be useful.

The media I'm rendering is captured video from a mini DV tape and rendering it to burn to DVD. The thing is I will take the exact same project and it works on one computer but not the other.
