Cannot Render To AVI

Each time I try to render to an .avi file, I click the
CUSTOM button. Then as soon as I click on the VIDEO tab in
the Custom Settings window, VF shuts down completely. This
only happens when trying to render to .avi. I need render
to .avi! Please help!

System:
Compaq 750mhz Pentium III - 386 ram
Matrox Marvel G200 Video Card

This is a bug I also suffer from. Here's the workaround...

1. To create a custom AVI template, don't access the video
tab from the "SAVE" or "SAVE AS" function.
2. Instead, go to "TOOLS", and click "PRE-RENDERED VIDEO".
3. Click "CUSTOM".
4. Now create your template.
5. If you click the "VIDEO" tab, a General Protection Fault
will occur, but DON'T CLICK CLOSE!
6. Leave the dialogue box alone. Video Factory will
continue to function normally.
7. Move the box aside and continue creating your template.
8. Finish, save it, and hit "OK".

Now you have a template for AVI's you can use during
a "SAVE" function without having to mess with the video
tab, crashing the program. Have fun.
