Cannot render with Vegas Pro 15

bhop wrote on 9/28/2017, 2:12 PM

I have recently upgrade my Vegas Pro 14 to 15. I have installed it on two computers running Windows 10 and neither one will render. I get an error stating 'An error occurred while creating the media file . An invalid argument was specified.' on both computers. I tried it on a Windows 8.1 laptop I have and it works fine. I then tried it on a Windows 10 Enterprise laptop I use at work and it is fine as well. I have tried everything support has suggested with no luck. I can't believe that there are not others experiencing the same problem. Has anyone else seen this?

Additional information: I can log in as administrator on both computers and rendering works. My account on both computers is also set up as administrator. Vegas Pro 14 still works just fine on both computers.

Uninstall it and try running the setup program as Administrator.

Try:  Right Clk on VP15 icon. Properties->Shortcut-> select run as administrator.  Worth a try.

Wolfgang S - It doesn't get that far. It gives me the error as soon as I click the Render button.
OldSmike & diverG - I tried those as well with the same results.

Thanks for your input!

This issue has been mentioned a few times. Try a forum search for the error message.

One possibility is related to networks (even if you are not trying to render to a network drive):

Read all the way to the bottom.

Thank you, Kinvermark! I thought I had searched for it and found nothing. The information in the thread you gave me fixed my problem!
